Welcome to the blog of the University of Exeter Contemporary Critical Theory Reading Circle (CCTRC). Our aim is to share ideas about cutting edge critical and cultural theory in a friendly but intellectual environment.
What?
We read from a diverse range of specialisms, but have two simple but essential criteria for selecting reading materials:
1) The author must have published in the last five years
OR
2) The author must not be dead
Where?
We are proud to announce that The Rusty Bike in Exeter hosts our reading circle and provides us with scholarly essentials such as wine.
When?
We meet on Monday nights at 6pm sharp on a bi-weekly basis during term time.
About Us

CCTRC was founded and is currently co-ordinated by Zoe Bulaitis and Sarah Daw, both PhD doctoral candidates at the University of Exeter.
Zoe's research concerns value and representation in the humanities today and is always on the look out for ways in which popular culture impacts on the meaning of higher education.
Sarah is a specialist in contemporary eco-critical theory and is in the final stages of completing her thesis entitled 'Writing Nature in Cold War American Literature'.
For further information about what we are reading at the moment, or to find out more details about how to get involved, please contact them via the contact information below:
